A Day at the Zoo

We spent the afternoon at the John Ball Zoo today. We had never been before even though its right downtown Grand Rapids - but it was so awesome! Madelynn loved the animals so much - any time she got to touch one she was just in awe. It was a great time.

Our little rider - she thought the saddle was pretty fun.

They had animals out to pet so she was touching this turtle. She liked his tail because he kept sticking it out and wiggling it.

The penguins were very active, so she loved that.

The petting zoo was by far her favorite. They had one with just babies and they were really tame, so she just stood next to this one and was patting it forever.

Put on some music, any kind, and this girl loves to dance! Before this she was dropping it to "Big Poppa"...great selection Daddy...real kid appropriate. Sorry for it being sideways, but I wasn't thinking about that when I recorded with my camera!

This is what our days usually look like. She loves being my helper. I love being a teacher...spending the summer with her is so awesome!! September is coming up too quickly.

Church Camp

This week was the annual church camp. I'm so bummed that I forgot my camera to catch the kids at the pool. Madelynn let me take her all the way in the water! Usually she would cry the whole time, but she was loving it. I did get some good smores pics though...

Happy 4th of July!

Madelynn had to wear her pretty dress for the 4th of July that Grandma & Grandpa Girrbach got her in New York - Daddy insisted. But isn't she so pretty? We got some great pictures of her on Grandma & Grandpa's front porch. She also had her first boat ride - in case you can't tell the life jacket makes her a little stiff. She did end up being ok with it though, she actually fell asleep during one of our boat rides! Happy 4th!
